Learn fitting methods for wood, metal, and shadow box frames, including types of wire, clips, hooks, and other hanging systems for the back of the frame; tips on sealing up the package to minimize problems later; and beautiful finishing ideas. We’ll explain chemical issues in terms anyone can under- stand and give participants an awareness of issues like oxidation, cross-linking, and acid hydrolysis, which may come up in discussions with conservators. *Meets the requirements for MCPF Continuing Education credit. Through samples, discussions, and a PowerPoint® presentation, the session will cover basic window construction; pinwheel, reverse, and staggered pinwheel layers; window mat hinging and overlap; variations; and window mat options for unglazed art. *Meets the requirements for MCPF Continuing Education credit. Learn basic, time-efficient ways of wrapping a single mat for profit, and translate that skill into arched mats, oval mats with flexible fillet, and a double water- fall mat. “Frank’s Flexible Fabric Fillet” will be taught. Seamless liners, mitered upholstered liners, retail pricing structures, and how to maximize wrapping will also be covered. Please note: Class continues after lunch.
